Analysis Report on Domestic Coastal Inter-Provincial Freight Ship Capacity in the First Half of 2024
As of June 30, 2024, there are a total of 2,513 coastal inter-provincial bulk carriers (over 100,000 tons, excluding heavy lift ships, multi-purpose ships, and other ordinary cargo ships) with a deadweight tonnage of 83.064 million tons (some ships had their deadweight tonnage adjusted after inspection, increasing the total by 17,000 tons), a decrease of 25 ships and 292,000 tons compared to the end of 2023, representing a 0.3% reduction in tonnage. In the first half of 2024, 77 new ships with a capacity of 2.462 million tons were added; there were no mandatory scrapped ships; companies adjusted their capacity, with a total of 102 ships and 2.771 million tons of capacity exiting the market.
