China leads the release of the first international standard for contactless delivery in the cold chain logistics field.

In recent years, the e-commerce market, especially the fresh food e-commerce sector, has developed rapidly, leading to a continuous increase in the demand for cold chain logistics. Recently, the international standard 'Requirements for Contactless Delivery in Cold Chain Logistics' (ISO 31511:2024), jointly formulated by China and multiple countries, has been officially released, empowering the high-quality development of the cold chain logistics industry through standards.

On the 23rd, reporters learned from China's market regulatory authorities that the standard stipulates the requirements that cold chain logistics service providers must meet when delivering goods from the distribution center to the recipient through contactless delivery, including requirements for service providers, facilities and equipment involved in the contactless delivery process, operational procedures, and handling of exceptional situations.

This international standard involves the field of intelligent logistics within the scope of strategic emerging industries. The smooth release of the standard will provide technical guidance for global cold chain logistics contactless delivery services, help ensure the hygiene and safety of delivered items during transportation, provide a safer environment for global cold chain logistics users, delivered items, and staff, and promote a multi-faceted enhancement of cold chain logistics standardization.

In the development of this standard, experts from China collaborated with those from Japan, France, South Korea, the UK, Germany, Malaysia, Indonesia, Singapore, and other countries, gathering practical experience from global cold chain logistics companies, logistics associations, research institutes, and universities.
